Req 6c — Live Tournament Experience
Attend an esports tournament, convention, or community event that includes a competitive gaming activity or demonstration. Attend with another Scout, troop member, or family member. Afterward, share with your counselor what you learned about the atmosphere of live esports events and how the experience changed your understanding of playing games competitively in front of an audience. In-Person Event Observation Checklist
Attending a live tournament with a friend, fellow Scout, or parent offers unique insights:
- Venue Atmosphere: Observe stage lighting, spectator seating, fan banners, and live audio announcers.
- Stage Pressure & Player Focus: Notice how players handle noise, bright lights, and live crowds while maintaining concentration.
- Community Connection: Pay attention to how fans, vendors, and players connect off-stage outside of active matches.
After the event, discuss with your counselor how watching players compete in front of a live audience changed your perception of competitive esports compared to playing at home.
