Meet with a Fire Prevention Specialist or a local fire official to learn about fire prevention efforts in your community. From what you learned, prepare a fire prevention message (skit, video, or billboard concept) and share with your counselor and troop (or other group approved by your counselor). Campaign Development Guide
- Fire Specialist Meeting: Discuss local campfire rules, trailer safety chain hazards, and burn ban enforcement with a local fire specialist.
- Select a Medium:
- Campfire Skit: Write a 3-minute humorous or educational skit for your troop campfire demonstrating proper campfire drowning.
- Video PSA: Produce a short video explaining how to create a 5-foot ember-resistant zone around homes.
- Poster / Billboard Concept: Design an eye-catching poster highlighting local fire safety rules.
- Present Your Campaign: Deliver your message to your troop or patrol and review the audience reaction with your counselor.
